Stonecurrent Press is an independent press based in Cumbria. It was established by writer Ian P. Loftus to publish books that examine ideas, history, memory and the effect of public events upon ordinary lives.
What we publish
Stonecurrent Press publishes the Poets, Politics & Philosophy series and is developing The Cumberland Chronicles. Its list is deliberately selective: each book must have a clear purpose, withstand serious editorial scrutiny and contribute something distinctive to the wider catalogue.
Editorial direction
Ian P. Loftus is the founder and editorial director of Stonecurrent Press. He holds a PhD in Creative Writing and writes fiction, memoir and non-fiction concerned with history, grief, ideas, landscape and ordinary lives.
